Congrats to Marc!

Internet High Five
Be sure to congratulate Marc Filzer the next time you see him. Marc recently endured Phase A instructor training at the Krav Maga Worldwide National Training Center in LA. It was seven consecutive days of very intense training, and he represented the Academy very well.

Marc trained long and hard for this, and now he can look forward to training longer and harder for Phase B!

Congrats, Marc!

Congrats to Patrick

Please join me in congratulating Patrick for spending 7 grueling days in LA to become a better Krav Maga practitioner and teacher. Patrick is now officially Phase C certified, which means he can now teach Level 3 Krav and continue his training into the “Expert Series,” which involves weapons.

Patrick was joined by 5 other instructors and they all passed!

Schedule & Curriculum Changes Effective 09.12.11 – Take 2

There have been a few further modifications to the schedule since this was originally posted last week. See below and refer to the Class Schedule page.

Effective September 12, the following changes will be made to the schedule:

  • Little Dragons: 5 pm classes added on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Kids Beginner: 5:45 pm classes added on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Youth Kenpo Black Belts: 3:30 pm Krav Maga classes added on Mondays and Thursdays.
[Monday XMA Club will still meet at 6:30pm. It's removal from the schedule was in error!]
  • Adult Kenpo: Tuesday 7:45pm classes moved to 7:30pm
  • Krav Maga: Tuesday 6:45pm classes moved to 6:30pm
  • All other programs’ schedules are unchanged.

We are also making slight modifications to the Krav Maga curriculum. Going forward, the two classes will be called Krav Maga Fundamentals and Krav Maga Advanced. The Fundamentals class will retain the same Level 1 curriculum but will also include some elements from higher levels that we feel are essential to a good foundation in Krav Maga. The Advanced class will remain material from Level 2 and above.

Why the name change? Even advanced students benefit from focusing on the basics, and we believe “Fundamentals” better reflects this.
