These articles are great! It's always helpful to read about the theory, it definitely put things in perspective. If you ever write a book with all these articles I might consider buying it... or downloading it from megaupload!

So i apply all newly encountered turns of life to dogs, and therefore i view Krav Maga as being bitework for dogs, but taught to humans. i feel as though an aquaintance with plausible tactics against physical harm is a benefitial pursuit. being a difficult animal to kill has worked for large canids throughout time, so why couldn't it work for me? given ample instruction and repetition and guidance, given practice and/or training, couldn't i be learning something really valuable? couldn't i be garnering a really good skill? obviously i am both discouraged and keen to do better each time i'm shown how poorly i fair being headlocked, choked, etc. but could one someday become good at scrapping?

Yeah, touching a bunch of random noses in class can feel kind of grimy. Luckily, we're out of cold season. But now we're in allergy season...

As for the pain component in training headlock defenses:
http://bmdacademy.com/you-can-stuff-your-sorries-in-a-sack-mister

You should never be reckless in training, but the more you shy away from aggression the less likely you'll be to tap into it when you really need to!

See you back in class soon!
