Inspirational Stories of Surviving Knife Attacks

11.13.15 By Josh Leave a Comment

Do let me know when you get tired of Inspirational Stories of Surviving Knife Attacks. But they are, well, Inspirational Stories of Surviving Knife Attacks.

Until then:

The incident in question occurred near A-Tira village, near Kalkiya in Samaria [West Bank], as dozens of Arab youths hurled rocks and firebombs at Border Police forces.

After dispersing the rioters security forces entered the village to track down and arrest the main instigators.

But when Staff Sergeant “D.” and his colleagues managed to grab one of the main suspects, the rioter pulled out a knife and attempted to stab them.

“In a split second I realized that this had gone from an arrest of rock-throwers to an attempted stabbing attack,” he recounted. “The distance was short, so my only option was to overpower him with my hands.

“I managed to dodge the stabbing and beat him until he was neutralized.”

Following the successful operation, the area has been quite and free of any further violence.

I’ll bet!

Border Police Northern Brigade Commander, Chief Superintendent Golan Sharoni, was full of praise for the brave officer.

“We prepare and train the fighters precisely for these kinds of scenarios,” he said. “The professionalism and speed of [the officer’s] reactions were the main factor in ending the incident as it did – without any casualties to our forces.

“Prepare and train”: it works.

It might have looked something like this:

Dealing With Multiple Attackers

10.23.15 By Josh Leave a Comment

We address in class the threat of multiple attackers from time to time, but we stress the awareness of multiple attackers all the time. Indeed, along with developing your “fighting spirit”, developing awareness of your environment, from exits to extra foes, is essential to your training.

From all the chaos in the world today, I’ve selected one viral video that shows exactly how to deal with multiple attackers. Watch how the victim, outsized and outnumbered, refuses to be a victim.

Oh yeah, go ahead and laugh. But when two hoodlums stop you to ask for a light, and one of them orders you to get into a windowless moving van, you would do well to remember Spike, or Pierre, or whatever the French Bulldog’s name is. That’s right: French Bulldog. Deal with it.

PS: Some YouTube commenters have noted that these were cubs, that things might have gone differently if the mama bear had been around. Fair enough, but you fight only the fight you have. Whatever your instincts tell you, obey them infallibly.

An invitation to showcase our skills!

The Academy has been invited to perform a demonstration at the annual fall carnival here in Watertown hosted by Grace Chapel. Rather than just bring our XMA performance team, we’d like to open it up to anyone who would like a chance to perform!

In order to perform each student must:

  1. Add their name to their class sign-up list in the lobby
  2. Be able to confidently perform their most current form
  3. Arrive at 525 Main St in full uniform by 4:15pm
