The new Krav Maga Fight class begins next week Wednesday, 10/3, at 7:30PM. (Reminder: the Wednesday evening Krav Maga Fundamentals class moves to 6:30PM.) Please read through the details below before attending the class.
Prerequisites
Current Krav Maga Advanced students who have trained through at least one cycle of the sparring curriculum may attend immediately. Any student who has not previously trained this curriculum will be required to attend a Saturday seminar/workshop to train the basics of the Krav Maga Level 2 fight curriculum. A seminar will most likely closely follow Level 1 tests, the first tentatively scheduled for November 3. The confirmed date and time will be posted soon.
Required Equipment:
- Headgear
- Mouthguard
- 16-oz gloves
- Shin guards
- Groin protection
You must also pass the Sparring Rotation Intensive Test 😯
Curriculum
The curriculum will be rotating blocks of 1) stand-up fighting (boxing & kickboxing), 2) groundfighting (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu), and 3) everything in between (clinch fighting & wrestling). There will be full-contact drills and freestyle sparring, but the emphasis will be on building skills to improve fighting ability at all ranges. The focus of this class will be “sport-style” fighting (i.e. with rules) with the ultimate purpose of augmenting our no-holds-barred Krav Maga self-defense skill set. The majority of the curriculum will be comprised of Krav Maga techniques, though elements of other styles not officially endorsed by Krav Maga Worldwide will also be trained.
Topics will include:
- Stand-up
- Head and body movement, footwork
- Striking combinations
- Punch and kick defenses
- Clinch Fighting & Wrestling
- Grappling in the clinch
- Dirty boxing
- Takedowns and defenses
- Groundfighting
- Positions, offensive and defensive
- Escapes and transitions
- Submissions

i was hoping to tape up my foot and participate…i don’t know if that’s alright…

Unfortunately, I think this class would be a little rough on a busted foot.

o.k. so i didn’t read your reply before i showed up for class–obviously–but it was fine-in fact it was the only part on that leg that didn’t hurt. Juiitsu (can’t spell, please excuse) is the most awesomely confounding thing–to use so much effort and to push your muscles so hard to cross so little distance is incredible! i really liked it!

Lot of smarts in that posting!
